Hugues Absil
Artist Biography
At 60 years old, Hugues Absil is a French painter, engraver, lithographer and draftsman.
In the era of "contemporary art", he makes the deliberate choice of painting. Through the daily practice of sketching, he updates a correspondence between art and life.
In 2016, He obtains the 1st prize of the international portrait exhibition 2015 organized by the association ARTEC . He is part of the selection committee of the Biennale du 109 in Paris.
He teaches painting at the university.
He teaches painting, drawing and printmaking at Paris-Ateliers. He is responsible for the preparatory classes for higher art schools at the Cours Saint-John Perse in Paris.
He graduated from the ENSBA (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris) in lithography in the class of Abraham Hadad and in drawing in the class of Daniel Sennelar.
He is a member of the selection committee for the Biennale du 109 in Paris.
After obtaining a master's degree in Art History under the direction of Philippe Dagen and Bruno Foucart at the Université Panthéon Sorbonne , he became the holder of a DEA in Art History under the direction of Eric de Chassey at the Université Paris-Sorbonne. He also graduated as an engineer from the ESTP (Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics).
